COOLinary New Orleans returns this August with multi-course specialties at over 100 participating restaurants. Guests can find two-course lunches for $25 or less and three-course meals and brunches for $50 or less.
Many of the participating restaurants are upscale, historic establishments such as Galatoire's and Antoine's at Bywater American Bistro and Nina Compton's Compere Lapin and Gabrielle and Gautreau's. But there are also informal places like Katie's Restaurant & Bars in Mid-City, Haiku Sushi on Magazine Street and BBQ spots like Frey Smoked Meat Co. and Downtown BBQ.Clesi's Restaurant and Deli features seafood and more on Mid-City's lunch and dinner menu.
Several new restaurants opened this year, including Uptown's Italian restaurant, Osteria Lupo. The $50 lunch menu includes a choice of four dishes each, including campanelle mushroom stew or Louisiana blue crab radish for pasta, and grilled lamb or yellowfin tuna for main course. The
Jewel of the South cocktail bar and restaurant in the French Quarter offers a four-course meal with liver parfait, brisket, haggis and Pimms dessert, and cherry jewel for $50.
Most participating restaurants range from Uptown's French Quarter to There are also locations from Sala in Lakeview to Toups' Meatery in Mid-City.There are also several eateries in Metairie, such as the Mexican restaurant Zocalo and the Latin American steakhouse Brasa Churrasqueria. In Chalmette, MeMe's Bar and Grille has surf and turf options on its lunch ($20) and dinner ($45) menu. At Gretna Legacy Kitchen, Steak + Chop offers lunch ($25) and dinner menus ($40).
