Healthy Cooking Tips Gone Wrong: The Viral Beef Rinsing Incident

Each of us has a few simple cooking tips that make our meals "healthier". You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream or use cauliflower rice to add bulk to the rice. Give it a try, but some tips go a little too far, turning a tasty, healthy meal into something almost inedible, as one TikTok user discovered the hard way. For obvious reasons, a video of a woman washing up cooked ground beef  went viral this week.

At the start of her TikTok video, user Emily Harper promises to share with you a healthy cooking tip she claims she learned in  nutrition class. He prepares the ground beef like we've probably done it a million times,  then sets about draining it. But then everything collapses. Rinse the meat for a while after putting it in the colander over the sink. The delicious fat literally flows away.

Wrote, "All that fat sucks." So get rid of him.

Of course there are some problems with this. First of all, don't pour grease down the sink as it can harden and clog the pipes (as she added in later videos this doesn't happen too often!). When it cools, I personally pour it into a cup and throw it in the trash, but other people swear by all sorts of techniques. However, the fact that drying and rinsing ground beef causes it to become dry is what most people complain about the most. This removes all of the delicious flavors and fats, which not only tastes great but can help keep you feeling full.

He has since disabled comments on  TikTok, but not before it was widely shared online and "doped" by fellow YouTubers, who all  agreed that a little fat is your friend!
