A fried egg is already an easy and delicious breakfast, but social media has seen twists on classics like viral pesto eggs and a new version that creates a crispy, peaky cheese crust.
Food writer and recipe writer Grace Elkus shared her easy breakfast idea that's making waves on TikTok and Instagram.

5-Minute Feta Fried Eggs
Ingredients
Eggs
Feta
Tortilla, Croutons or Toast
Avocado, optional
Condiments
Heat a small nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.Crumble the feta (about 40 grams or 1/3 cup) all over.
Immediately crack the egg and season with black and red pepper flakes (no need to add salt, feta is very salty).
Cover the pan and reduce the heat if necessary, until the egg whites are set, the yolk is still runny and the cheese is incredibly crisp.
Served on toast, hash browns or my personal favorite: Charred Avocado Lime Tortilla.
Cook's Note:
Works with any hard cheese such as parmesan and maybe other brittle cheeses.
You can oil the pan, especially if you're not using non-stick, but I find the cheese gets crispier without it.
